Projecting the Commanders’ initial 53-man roster of 2024

Word of warning: The Washington Commanders’ initial 53-man roster probably will look significantly different from their opening week roster. Washington is second in the waiver claim order, which means shortly after he sets this roster (deadline is 4 p.m. Eastern Time on Tuesday), General Manager Adam Peters probably will reconfigure some position groups by adding outside help from players cut by other teams. Think offensive and defensive line, wide receiver, cornerback and, yes, kicker — even after the trade for Cade York. No group is off limits, and if Peters has made anything clear in his first seven months in Washington, it’s that he’s unafraid of major change.
