Celtics Secure Road Win, Take 2-1 Series Lead Over Cavaliers

CLEVELAND, Ohio - The Boston Celtics continued their trend of road dominance in the playoffs, defeating the Cleveland Cavaliers 106-93 in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals on Saturday night. This win puts the Celtics up 2-1 in the best-of-seven series.

For several years now, Celtics playoff runs have been synonymous with three things: lengthy series, struggles at home, and road victories. While the jury's still out on replicating the first two this time around, the Celtics ensured the third trend remained intact with a dominant performance at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse.

Boston's stifling defense was the foundation for their success. The Cavaliers were held to just 93 points, a testament to the Celtics' focus and defensive intensity. This defensive effort provided the platform for Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown to shine. Tatum, showcasing his leadership qualities, led the team with 33 points and 13 rebounds, while Brown contributed a highly efficient 28 points on 13-for-17 shooting.

"We simply wanted to win," said Tatum after the game. "We knew we underperformed in Game 2, and this was a perfect opportunity to respond with a better effort, a harder fight, and improved overall play."

The Celtics' victory wasn't without its challenges. Game 2's loss at home served as a wake-up call, highlighting the need for a stronger performance on the road. However, the team displayed resilience, bouncing back with a decisive win that puts them in control of the series.

With the series shifting back to Boston for Game 4, the Celtics will look to capitalize on their home-court advantage and extend their lead. The Cavaliers, on the other hand, will need to find solutions to overcome Boston's suffocating defense and find offensive rhythm, particularly if they hope to even the series.
